My 76yr old father has had Parkinson's for 10yrs and now has dementia. He takes Carbodopa/Levodopa 25mg/100mg 2.5 tabs 3 times a day, 75mg Seroquel per day, 5mg Donepezil per day, 5mg Ramipril per day. On July 28th 2014 and October 08 2014 my father had syncopal incidents (passed out). Both times were in the morning after eating breakfast and taking 8am meds. Both times he was sitting down calmly relaxing and both times he lossed consciousness and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. He has had multiple diagnostics done like UTI, chest X-rays, Echocardiogram, Carotid sonargram, blood work, MRI with and wihtout contrast and CTs of his brain. All of these are negative for any physical problem. He is active and walks every day and physically he is in good shape. The only surgery he ...

ANY SIDE AFFECT ## After gathering information on Cardace, I found that may be linked to Ramipril, and could possibly be one in the same pill; for its uses for treating hypertension, congestive heart failure, prevention of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular death in patients over age 55. The following are side effects of Ramipril; as I believe Ramipril is the generic name for Cardace: A possible swelling of the mouth, tongue, or throat. A low blood sugar level in patients taking other medicine for diabetes which physically shows as sweating or shakiness. Furthermore, dry cough may develop, along with dizziness, and light-headedness due to low blood pressure. Decreased sex drive. Tiredness and fatigue. and mouth dryness. I have been taking cardace 10mg. tablets 2 tabs per day for the past 3 years. Is there any side effects if taken for a long time. ## Cardace contains the active ingredient Ramipril, it is an ACE inhibitor that is used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions. There are always risks associated with taking any medication for a long period of time, however, if you have high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, the dangers to you are far greater if you don't use the medication to keep them under control. However, I cannot provide you any information on those risks, because at this time, long-term trials have not been done. Have you discussed this with your doctor? ## have been taking cardace 10 mg once a day for last 9 years,so far no issue ,but I am eager to know whether p...

The upset stomach can be a side effect of both of these medications, if it is too severe, you should talk to your doctor about it, they may be able to help you in some way by prescribing something else, or by giving you something to prevent nausea. I have been prescribed ramipril 5, telmisartan 40, losartan sodium 50 at different occasions for blood pressure. I want to know is there any harm in changing the medicines from time to time. Or one should stick to one medicine for BP. Please let me have your suggestion in this regard. Please note that alongwith this BP Medicine I have been taking Glibenclamide5mg+Metformin 500 mg (for diabetic) ## Hello, Kaaliya! How are you? You should take whichever medication your doctor has prescribed, unless they tell you to change it or to stop taking it. These types of medications take awhile to reach their full levels of effectiveness in your body, so switching too frequently wouldn't actually give them a chance to work. Which one are you currently taking?

Which is better Ramipril or Amlodipine? Just to mention sometimes I get wheezing due to allergy House dust polen etc. I used to take Amlodipine 5mg I was bit stout. When I reduced weight due to TB my weight reduced so blodd pressure was high not much. So doctor stopped this to study BP. then When I regained weight after TB cured again lower level was bit high. Now a different doctor prescribed with Ramipril 2 capsule of 1.25 mg so it is 2.5mg. I am afraid because different doctors handled me. Any problem I cant say anything about doctor. NHS surgery is like that . NHS hospital is better because they always send us to respective specialities. Surgery is a general doctor. I am 47. I am afraid if prescription of medicine is wrong. Im on ramipril 10mg as bp remains at 100 so now on amlodipine 5mg in conjunction . I am fine re cholesterol and blood sug. No apparent reason apart from stress. Any ideas would be great. Plus has this combination wrkd for anyone. Only thing they have found is low calcium in my body. ## Hi, Beanie! How are you? Sometimes, there just is no explanation for why someone develops high blood pressure. I haven't been on that exact combination, but I've had to take other medications in those same classes. It's generally beneficial to combine them in the case of resistant hypertension, since they tend to increase the effects of each other. Learn more Ramipril details here. Can this medication be taken on an empty stomach? If so, are there any side effects? ## Cardace-H contains the active ingredients Ramipril and Hydrochlorothiazide and these types of medications are actually known to cause more side effects if you take them on an empty stomach. I have been taking medicines for BP. The medicines is changed from one to another like Ramipril 5mg, Losarton Sodium 50mg, Telmisartan 40 mg, etc. I want to know is there any problem in changing the medicines or one should I stick with only one medicines. Please advise. ## Yes, you should find one that works for you, without causing a lot of side effects that make you miserable and stick with it. When you keep switching, your body doesn't have a chance to get used to any medication and for it to reach its full level of effectiveness. Additionally, stopping one abruptly to switch to another may cause a rebound effect, which means your blood pressure and heart rate can bounce back up, so you kind of negate any effect the medication may have had. What medication has your doctor recomme...

Taken Tritace for ten years and Hypertension has been controlled changed to Ramipril B/P now jumps up and down and at the moment extremely high. ## Ramipril is just the generic for Tritace, so there is no difference. Have you changed the dosage? After 10 years, it is possible that your body has just gotten used to the medication, so it is no longer working as well for you. Learn more Tritace details here. Have you contacted your doctor? You will most likely need a dosage adjustment or to try a different medication.

Can u take ramipril & amyttiptiline together in the evening? Is it safe ## I didn't find any interactions or problems listed, though you should always double check such information to be sure. Both can cause some drowsiness and dizziness, so taking them close together, or at the same time may make that a little worse. In case you're new to taking them, here's where you can learn more Ramipril details and this one for learning Amitriptyline details . Is there anything else I can help with?

I am thinking of switching from 10 mg Ramipril to Coversyl. Does anyone know what the equivalent dose of Coversyl is please? ## Each 2.5mg of Ramipril is equivalent to 4mgs of the Perindopril in the Coversyl, so you'd be looked at about 16mgs as an equivalent dosage. Why are you thinking of switching? Is the Ramipril not working for you? Learn more Coversyl details here. ## Thanks the Ram works fine, but my wife who is a Diabetic Educator works with the Diabetes specilist Docs, and they think Coversyl is slightly better than Ramipril.
