my husband has been taking omeprazole for an ulcer, and to protect his stomach from cumadin. i went to get his script yesterday, and medicare and medicaid isnt covering it anymore... just like nexium and protonix. the price of the script is 407.00!!!! we just dont know where to go from here. is there an alternative med that anyone knows of that medicare will pay for? ## They covered it, until very recently and it is the generic, one of the cheaper medications. You should check his coverage to see what medications they will cover. ## I would be getting your husband to try over the counter Zantac 150mg twice a day. morning and supper and that will help better then the Nexium and Prevacid and other acid reducers. i am on Zantac twice a day, can't take Nexium and others. to many side ef...

When should I take Rabeprazole, before or after breakfast or dinner and how long after eating? ## Rabeprazole is usually given for 4 to 8 weeks, unless directed by your doctor. Normally you take this medicine with a full glass (8 ounces) of water, with or without food. For more specific directions I would ask your M.D. that prescribed it to you. Do you have any more questions or information toa dd? Please post back if you do. ## HOW MUCH TIME AFTER OR BEFORE FOOD ? ## I believe it doesn't matter when you take it, as long as you follow the instructions. If you feel concerned I would go to your nearest pharmacist and ask he/she more specific instructions. Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do.

Mum seek clinical consultation, was given Charcoal Tab, Domperidone (Motilium) & Dhaperazine (Stemetil) and given an injection of Votmine Inj 50mg/ml (Dimenate) as she was really sicked with headache and very high blood pressure. She had double strokes 4 hours later after the consultation. Does those drugs help reduce high pressure?? Why did the GP not send her straight to hospital for proper medical attention?

I need to identify a small dark mottled pink tablet, imprinted with the number 20, but with no other identifying information {the dark pink is very similar to the color of Prilosec tablets with the P underscore, but these tablets are not as big or as long as the Prilosec pinks} --Thank you very much! ## additional info on my mottled pink 20 pill: I believe that they call it Salmon Pink ? ## I forgot to say the salmon pink 20 tablet is oblong, with rounded corners - Bill ## Hi Buffalobill, Based on your last post of it being a salmon color, I think I found a match. First, can you please verify with the picture found at the link below that this is the same pill which you are asking about: If this is a match, then you have probably already found out that it's Omeprazole delayed release...

I was just prescribed Rabeprazole 20 mg 1 x / day for abdominal discomfort, bloating, etc. I was wondering if anybody has tried this medication, and what sort of experience they had with it. Basically for the past few days I've been unable to eat without experiencing severe bloating and discomfort leading to nausea and trapped gas that does not want to escape. After a 5 hour visit to urgent care gall stones and ulcers seem to be ruled out at this point because I haven't experienced accompanying pain (thankfully). I have 6 days worth of pills to start with, which will at least let me get on a flight back home in 2 days. I read about it and see that there are several side effects which always make me weary to try a new drug. If anybody can offer feedback it would be appreciated!

I have a prescription of Famotidine dated 02/06/06. I wonder if they are still usable? ## Not in the US. Most prescriptions are generally only good for up to a year, but most pharmacies will not take them past a few months. ## If the medicine has crossed the expiry date,pl. throw it. In India, the expiry date for Femotidine is three years from the date of manufacture.

This is a white, nearly square pill with slightly rounded edges. It says W on top, with the number 937 below. I can find no reference to it. ## I am also wondering what this pill is. I have looked every where on the internet and I cannot find any information on it. If someone knows please help us out. Once again its a white squarish pill with a W, and 937 right below it. Thank you! ## I realize these posts have been up for awhile, but if this helps I figure better late than never. One of my clients takes a pill matching this description (nearly square, white, imprinted W 937), and the bottle is labeled as Famotidine 40 mg. I couldn't find any reference to it online either, though. ## It is listed in the prescription drug database as Fomotidine 40mgs, a generic for Pepcid.

beige pill with 93 stamped on it ## This could only be Famotidine (not Famolidine) if one side has the 93 stamped on you that you mention, AND the other side has 896. If so then it is 20mg, generic for Pepcid and others. It is used for reflux, stomach acid and other stomach ailments. ## This is a post from over a year ago, and secondly there is NOTHING listed under U.S. prescription drugs with that name. The only listing is Famotidine, which is a generic for Pepcid. The 93 on it only signifies that it is made by Teva, that does not identify the drug itself, to do that and find the correct dosage, you need to provide the entire imprint. There are many pills marked with the 93.

Found a large, round, speckled orangish or peach-colored tablet in my son's room. What is it. On one side it states L026 ## i founa a l026 pill in a 12 pack of sam adams ## This is an generic brand of antacid, comparable to Tums. You can buy them at Costco. ## Yes, pills marked with an L are mostly all over the counter medications made by LNK International. They make only over the counter drugs that are sold by many stores as generics or store brands. I have two bottles with these in them, both the same thing and same markings, generic for Tums. One is the Eckerd brand and one the Wal-Mart generic.

What's your opinion about the relationship of prolonged use of proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole and hip fractures? ## Are there any studies done by the drug company for the use of omeprazole use and the risk for hip fractures and if so what are the results? or the use of any proton pump inhibitors??

small, round, white pill with gg or 66 on one side and 298 on the other ## The 298 is actually under the GG not on the opposite side. Thanks! ## This is Famotidine 20mgs, a generic for Pepcid, which is used for heartburn and acid reflux. Of course, the relevant question is why your daughter had them and what she THOUGHT they were.
