My 7 year old has been on it for about 4 months now. She recently started complaining about her back and abdomen hurting. I'm trying to find out if it's side effects from this drug? ## Those aren't listed as typical side effects, according to NIH studies, but there's no way to say how any given medication will affect anyone that tries it, especially a child. Our 4.5 year old granddaughter is visiting and she came with Cyproheptadine 2MG/5ML Syrup. She has nightmares and anxiety at bed time. Takes a 10ML dose every night. Is this okay? My son suffers from severe migraines and has been on this medicine for 4 1/2 years. We recently took him off because we felt like his headaches have been more often and more severe. He has been off for almost 2 weeks and has been very tired, very moody and has not been eating as much. ## That is normal. Even if someone isn't abusing a medication, your body gets used to having that substance and abruptly stopping it will cause some withdrawal symptoms. Is this a vitamin or a medication for pain?? ## The trade of this product is actually "Nuran BC Forte". It contains the following active ingredients: Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride Vitamin B Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) Cyproheptadine relieves red, irritated, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by allergies, irritants in the air, and hay fever. That said, I'm not exactly sure as to why these specific vitamins are being combined with an allergy medication, but none-the-less it appears to work synergistically.
