Is it also a blood thinner. ## There are currently shartages of Isosorb Mono. Can you tell when these shortages will be resolved. ## The Ethex pharmaceutical company had some quality control problems and recently was forced to recall some of their generic prescription medications. There has been no word yet on how long there will be a shortage due to this issue. The name brand is still available. Have you tried calling different pharmacies to see who might still have some in stock? ## I've been experiencing nose bleeds since starting Isosorb. Is this a normal side effect. I've never had nose bleeds before and at first thought it was the result of surgery and oxygen tubes; however, surgery was a month ago and I'm still experiencing the nose bleeds.

It can cause low white cell count or hemmorhage. Ecosprin contains Aspirin, it is also generally used for its blood thinning properties. Warfarin is another blood thinner. As to stopping any of these, this site is not medical professionals and do not know your medial history. Only you and your doctor can decide that. Have you talked to them about it?

Hi, my mother underwent an angioplasty last month and she is taking plavix and ecosprin along with other medicines. Now the doctor has suggested that we can start using clavix instead of plavix as plavix is very expensive. But I'm sceptical about it and would like to know wether Clavix is really as good as Plavix. Thanks, Kris ## There are a few limitations worth mentioning. Although randomized, and comparable in size to other similar investigations, PLUTO-Diabetes was a trial with a small sample size, so chance may represent a plausible alternative explanation for these findings. A high frequency of use of concomitant medications may have affected the platelet characteristics; however, the use of most major drugs was similar between the groups. There was a 2-fold greater prevalence...

Anticoagulant oral 1mg Need the Prescriber information ## My husband is taking Sintrom and has ben for several years, ithas kept his INR stable, however we cannot get this drug in Thailand, so we have to change to warfarin, does he have to change the dosage when he changes?

My father has INR 1.43. He has taken 1,1, 2 mg sintrom in three consecutive days. How mg sintrom will he take in matter his INR to be 2-3? Please ask to me as soon as you can. Thank You ## Sintrom contains the active ingredient Warfarin, this is an anticoagulant. It is hard to say, it can take several weeks for most medications to reach their full effect in the body. His doctor should keep testing his levels regularly and adjust the medication as needed, accordingly. You can read more on this medication here: Have you tried asking his doctor about it?

Is there a problem with taking the drugs together? ## The two drugs aforementioned are completely different. After gathering information on the active ingredients in each drug, there does not seem to be any sort of conflict with taking them consecutively. I am not an MD, so I would recommend asking a certified physician what is right for you. For more information on Warfarin, the synthetic Vitamin K inhibitor, please take a look at the link below... Why does a doctor put a patient on coumadin? I was put on it after developing a blood clot after aneurysm surgery. And have been on it for lmost two years. ## Coumadin is a medication that thins out your blood, so that you will not have any blood clots happen. It's a very good medication. Just be VERY CAREFUL NOT TO CUT YOURSELF, reason being is that since your blood is thinned out you will bleed more and its takes longer to stop the bleeding. Also you will bruise yourself a lot faster too if you bump into something. You should always ask your Dr. why he/she is giving you this medication and any others and also have them explain it to you so that you fully understand and you can always ask a pharmacist about any and all medications. Also you did'nt say how many mg you are taking...

MY MOTHER IS 82 YRS OLD.SHE JUST HAD A SMALL HEART ATTACK..HAS AN IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT AND 30%KIDNEY FUNCTION.HER MIND IS FABULOUS...THEY ARE PUTTING HER ON CUMADEN,WHICH THEY ALSO CALLED RAT POISON.ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? ## I take Plavix. Over time the other stuff causes calciun buildup in the arteries. ## Coumadin, which contains the active ingredient Warfarin, is quite often the first and most reliable treatment for these types of conditions. The only reason it was used in rat poison is because of it's blood thinning ability and your mother will not be taking a dose anywhere near what they let the rats have.

My mother is on coumadin and can't seem to get regulated. Her arms are very sore and bruised because of all the blood tests. She was just told to cut down on leafy green vegetables. Is there anything else that might help? ## why would my INR be reversing if my prescription is the generic version of coumadin/warfarin since 11/05....for some reason it is dropping like crazy...the doctor is increasing the dosage ...your thoughts ## My grandfather is on Cumadin and cannot eat green veggs either ## The reason they tell people on this medication not to eat certain leafy green vegetables is because they contain Vitamin K, which can also thin your blood. A doctor with more experience using the drug, however, usually adjusts the drug to the person's diet and not vice-versa. As long as th...

Can Plavix cause erectile dysfunction or reduce the efficacy of Viagara? ## What are all the side effects of plavix or clavix? Could any E.D. problem occur due to this? ## Yes, any medication like this can cause erectile dysfunction. Ultimately, you need increased blood flow, these medications thin the blood, so thus, you do not get the needed blood flow. As to Viagra, please remember it is not a miracle drug, it can help, but will not make you instantly erect and turned on, you will still need the normal stimulation!
