Mag Oxide

After having heart skips or chest pressure and not being able to take statin drugs, since I was alergic to them.(I had a fever and vomiting for 24 hours), I heard that magnesium relaxes arteries, It stopped the chest pressure and heart skips. I use about 3 or 4 pills a day. It also helps with constipation since I have to take narcotics for pain. I hope this helps someone. Magnesium is very low priced at Walmart. Does Magnesium effect the affects of Percocet 10mg? ## Magnesium Oxide is simply a magnesium supplement. It is often used to treat magnesium deficiency or is used to prevent magnesium deficiency is people who take drugs that deplete magnesium- the most common being diuretic medications or water pills. Some people with heart problems are given Slo Mag to make sure that their magnesium level stays in the normal range. Really the only Magnesium Side Effect that you have to be concerned about is loose stools. Magnesium should NOT affect the functioning of Percocet and could actually improve pain in some cases and also can help with the constipation that Percocet may induce. Just don't use magnesium without your doctor's permission if you have any kidney problems.

I have been taking 25 mg metoprolol and 400 mg magnesium oxide for atrial fibrillation for about a month. Over a week later a bad rash developed on both hands and one hand is red and puffy. Got off the mag oxide since I thought that was what caused it, but the side effects have gotten worse. I can't stand the itching. Afraid to go off both meds, my doc has not been much help and I feel confused. I never took any pills before this. I am 69 years of age. i was told this was a muscle relaxer its white pill with gp 400 ## I located the white pill in description to be Magnesium oxide (400 mg). Suspensions of magnesium hydroxide in water (milk of magnesia) are used as an antacid to neutralize stomach acid, and as a laxative. Also being that it is classified under minerals and electrolytes, it may help aid in muscle relaxation; but I cannot personally confirm that.
