Hi can anybody tell me if they have suffered memory problems after coming off Lyrica? 4 months clear of it now but still can be in middle of conversation and forget what I was talking about. Can this still be related to coming off the drug after this length of time? ## @woffymum you are definitely NOT alone. Check out this related discussion thread which is getting a lot of activity: Does Anyone Taking Lyrica Have Memory Loss ?

I have been taking Lyrica for prophylactic migraine managment as well as neuropathic pain following discectomy of T8-9 and T10-11. I was previously on gabapentin and noticed cognitive sxs, and minimal effects for pain. After starting Lyrica, I almost immediately noticed decreased pain...I thought it was a miracle! I also had decreased migraines. Now that I have been on Lyrica 100mg BID, my weight gain has become unmanagable. I have gained 40 lbs, and I am only 5'3. I weigh more now than I did when pregnant with any of my children. I have also experienced many of the side effects mentioned in the discussion boards. I told my Dr. that I wanted to get off of it due to so many problems. He gave me a tapering schedule, but the first time I started decreasing my dose, I have started havin...

My spell check is on the blink so please excuse any errors! I had surgery In Sept of 2005 on my lower leg, resulting in nerve trauma and extreme stabbing hot and cold pain, in that area. It was almost impossible to walk. I had no relief from standard painkillers such as Vicoden and Ibuprofen. Lyrica was prescribed at 25 mg and provided incredible relief within 48 hours. It was increased slowly to 150 mg over one month. I am now- in Jan of 2007, slowly decreasing the medicine over a one month period, with good success so far. I would like some input or info on the side efects or any withdrawl issues. Also, how long does it take to get out of the system? My experience in total has been very favorable. I did have definite challenges with memory, and loosing my place in discussions with peo...

Use of this drug to for pain suppression from sciatica pain ## For fibro:I was on 25mg of lyrica then upped to 50mg. Had lots of blurred vision on the 50mg, which progreesed to loss of concentration. Brought myself back to 25mg, still have some blurred vision. but am taking it at night to sleep, the savella 12.5mg in am. So far it's a great combo... ## Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, it is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. The FDA lists the typical side effects Pregabalin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and fatigue. Are you still taking just the 25mg dose? Savella is antidepressant that also helps with nerve pain, and may cause very similar side effects to those listed above.

Please help! I have serious memory problems ## Hi, Donna! Sorry about the problems that you're having. Yes, having a problem with your memory is actually a common side effect of Lyrica. Learn more Lyrica details here. Have you consulted your doctor? Lyrica just might not be the right medication for you to take and you may need to try something else. ## Hello, hope your Lyrica problem has been resolved. I also had a bad reaction to Lyrica. I always stop a medication immediately if I have a bad reaction to it. And you can always trump your doctor at any time and not take the medication. By law, they can not make you take it. If they push you into it, see another doctor. Even if its a prominent doctor.

I want to know a little about Lyrica medicine, all about its reaction, how to withdraw, etc ## Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant that's also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes and drowsiness. You can also discover more Lyrica details here. As to withdrawing, it should be done in a slow taper, after you've been on it for awhile, since a sudden withdrawal may cause rebound symptoms, as well as cause the risk of seizures. Are there any other questions? ## I was on 300mg a day for years. With my doctors help he wrote a prescription for 50mg and 25mg tabs. 1st I stepped down to 200mg/day, for a month or so, then I got to 100mg then 50 and now I'm on 25...

I'm wanting to hear from anyone who has winged off of lyrica after so many mths taking it. I have had it with the med. I've gained 35 lbs in 4 mths. I never gain wt. I have sever numbness in hands and feet and swolleness. It's scary! I ran out one time with out getting refill, though I'd just stop it and start another tx. Well very wrong. I got so sick. I was having withdrawels and I had to get back on it. At the time it was worth getting back on it quickly to feel better. Plus the other side effects hadn't kicked in yet and not so severely. I'm worried it will be difficult to get off of it. ## I took it for fibromyalgia. Although it did help my flareup tremendously. The side effects are too much. ## thanks Verwon that was the exact imformation I was looking for....

It is like poison, or electroconvulsive therapy with the mental confusion and short term memory loss. 150 mg. q.d. didn't touch my PN. AND, DIZZEEE; OMG, help! ## These are rare, but possible, side effects of Lyrica, which contains the active ingredient Pregabalin. Have you contacted your doctor about them, yet? As to the pain, this is not an analgesic and it does not work like one. It only helps with certain types of nerve pain and it will take awhile to work, usually several weeks.

I found out about Lyrica after 6 months of the soles of my feet felt like thick Elephant pads and painfull. The sharp needles and pins prickling night and day.The bottom of my feet and toes burned to the point of turning red. I tried Benfotiamine..no help. I tried Novacaine I bought through a Canadian pharmacy...no help. I found one thing that would help some.Sitting with your feet up and a wet wash cloth draped over the feet and havin a ceiling fan blowing on them. At night I would wet the wash cloths ,fold into a triangle. fold tightly around the feet and pin on with a large safety pin. I stuck my feet out from under the covers. It was the only thing that would allow me some sleep. My Doctor would alwayssay he didn't knowwhat would help. I was already on Darvacet and Flexeril. I fo...

I took 250 to 300 mg of lyrica daily for fibromyalgia, for 9 years. I have stopped due to medicare supplement insurance doesn't cover it. My Dr. weaned me off over the summer. Now I may not pursue other meds to replace it. It's been 6 weeks since my last dose. I can't eat. Nothing tastes good most days. I had welts during withdrawal, which my hands constantly went to from anxiety. So I'm still healing from those. Many other withdrawals as well. My question is, how long will the lyrica stay with me? When can I really judge that it's the real me, not the withdrawing me or the damaged from years of lyrica me? So glad I'm off it now. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? It is odd for the effects of it to still linger...

I have been diagnosed with neuropathy of the feet. Was originally prescribed Lyrica, 200mg/3x a day. The relief from the pain was almost immediate. However the side effects at that dose were overwhelming. When I started having difficulty breathing I contacted my Dr and reduced the dosage dramatically. I dropped to 75mg2x a day and thankfully still had the relief from the pain. Weight gain with Lyrica is a real issue. I have gained over 30 lbs in 3 months on the drug. I have also started to take days off from taking it. I take it everyother day and sometimes i go every 3 days. You do build a tolerance to the drug quite quickly and I do not want to increase my dosage. Days off from it really help me with it's continued effectiveness. It does work wonderfully on reducing my pain, and o...
