Recently had chemo and then breast removed from 2 spots on breast and in 2 lymph nodes under right arm now fix s tart 6 -8 radiation and herceptin 1 xmonthe for 12 months could cancer spread ## Yes, there is always a risk of cancer spreading, or of developing new cancer. The best thing to do is to follow your doctor's instructions for further treatment to help prevent it from spreading. The FDA does warn that you may experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight loss and hair loss. Have you started treatment, yet?

I have enlargement of lymph nodes, can I use Amox K Clav 500-125? ## @Frank, Even though infections are the most common cause of swollen lymph nodes, it's not necessarily the only cause. For this reason I'd still encourage you to speak with your doctor about diagnosing the cause, before taking an antibiotic (if in fact you end up not needing to take it). In the event that it is an infection, Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium (500 mg - 125 mg) does cover a broad spectrum of bacteria, so in my opinion it may be a feasible approach. You can read more on the causes and treatment options for swollen lymph nodes here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003097.htm I hope this helps!

Then went to my liver lung and brain. I take methadone 10, Oxycodone 5 and after January 1st,2013 I won't be able to get my hydrocodone 750`s. I have constant pain. Do you have any ideas to get rid of this pain. ## Hello, Lola! How are you doing? I am so sorry about what you've been going through. You might be able to just get the lower dose and take an additional Acetaminophen tablet, or half of a table with it. Have you checked with your doctor, yet? They will be able to let you know if it is safe for you to do that. ## Have you considered alternative treatments? Try the Jim Kelmun baking soda and molasses recipe for pain reduction. Go to the "Cancertutor" website for ideas. Listen to the "Truth about cancer" videos that are free online.

From right breast cancer removed and 12 lymph nodes also removed. After that it went to my liver, right lung and then my brain. Due to all the extreme surgeries I am in awful pain. Even though I take methadone, oxycodone and hydrocodone 750, January 1,2014 no more 750's. Pain 1 to 10 , I am A TEN. ## Hello, Lola! How are you doing? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain, I hate to see anyone suffer. And yes, that is correct, there will not be anymore combination prescription products available with that amount of Acetaminophen after the new year. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? They may be able to adjust the dose of one of your other medications to help you more.

I had my lymph nodes removed from left axilla 19 years ago, for breast cancer. I am now taking warfarin for Afib and high blood pressure, both now regulated by medication fairly well. I know you can't use a 24 hr.BP monitor while taking warfarin, I assume because of the pressure on the arm - what about wearing a compression sleeve when travelling by air? ## That is something you should really check with your doctor about and see if it is safe for you to do. The pressurized air in the cabin, coupled with the elevation tends to raise your blood pressure. This, along with the fact that you are on Warfarin can affect the safety and advisability of doing so. In some cases, it may depend on the length of the flight, as well. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your re...

I have been prescribed mesulid for cysts on the lymph nodes in the pelvic area. Does it work? ## For questions of safety, your doctor should know your medical history before prescribing it to you. Like most drugs in NSAID category, nimesulide is known to be hepatotoxic (damaging to the liver) in rare but unpredictable cases and should be taken with care. The patient information leaflet informs that the use of nimesulide in children under the age of 12 is contraindicated. For more information click on the link below... i took this drug after a radical hysterectomy and removal of lymph nodes for bladder infection from 01/27/12 til 04/19/12. i quit taking after an allergic reaction. now have severe pain in hands, and in am or after periods of rest or not using hands fingers lock, i have to move with other hand. pain is severe. is there a bad drug suit? I have worked all of my life and want to continue working but hand pain is severe ## No, there is really no bad drug suit, so to speak. As long as something is warned about as being a possibility, in the side effects, regardless of how rare the possibility, then there really isn't much you can do if it happens to you. I'm sorry you're suffering, but that is why few lawyers will bother to pursue these types of cases, there just isn't much g...

Hi! I went on Amox-Clav because of swollen lymph nodes, but no diagnosis as to why they were swollen. I was on a 7 day course. I had nausea, diarrhea, anxiety, palpitations, low back pain and loss of appetite while on the drug. I finished the course and started to feel better. However, its been 10 days since I stopped taking them and I still get chills, nausea and the sweats every few days at night. Is it normal to still have side effects this long after stopping the antibiotic? I have been taking probiotics to help, but its still not gone. ## Yes, those are normal side effects according to the FDA, and they can linger for several weeks, after finishing your course of treatment. You may also experience dizziness, diarrhea, and stomach pain. How are you doing, now? Has there been any cha...

I had stage 3b subungual melanoma and after they did an amputation of my thumb and lymph nodes dissection, they lowered it to 2b, but when the results came back they said I'm cancer free yet still want me to take opdivo (nivolumab). Does anyone have any experience with this? ## That is normal, just in case some cancer cells were missed by the testing, most people are told to continue takint the relevant medication for a certain period of time. The FDA lists its most common side effects as possibly including nausea, fatigue, muscle/joint pain, and decreased appetite. There is also a warning regarding the possibility of severe inflammation of some organs of the body, they are immune mediated. Has anyone else been on this medication? Congrats on beating cancer! ## I’ve been on op...

My daughter has stage 4 renal cell carcinoma, the cancer has metastasized to her lungs, lymph nodes and vena cava vein. She has tried both Votrient and Sutent but the cancer has continued to grow. She has seen 3 different surgeons who all agree that surgery is not a option as the risk would far outweigh any benefits. She just started the drug Afinitor and I was wondering if anyone has had positive results with this medication. Know it's not realistic to only look at good postings but she could really use a little positive reinforcement about now. So far she hasn't experienced any severe side effects but if or when they kick in I know she could handle them a lot better if she had a some hope. Any postings would be truly appreciated. ## Has she looked over the manufacturer's w...

Rive-DSR tablet is used for treating? i want to know wat is its function in treating infection of lymph nodes ## Rive-DSR contains Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor used to treat conditions such as heartburn, GERD and ulcers and Domperidone, which is used to help prevent nausea and vomiting. That said, there is nothing in this to treat an infection of any type. Was it prescribed by your doctor? ## Yes Rive DSR was prescribed by doctor. along with tis other prescription was Zofixi-CL & signo flam. I am under some infection due to which the lymph node in grooving is swollen. may i know why these zofixi CL & signo flam used? ## In that case, the Zofixi-CL makes sense, it contains Cefixime and Clavulanic Acid, it is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. Have been undergoing chemo and Photon treatments for metastic Squamous cell carcinoma in my throat and lymph nodes on one side of my neck. After 4 weeks of treatments have problems swallowing, throat pain, dry mouth, water tastes salty and food has no flavor. I’m also getting ocular migraines and ringing in my ears after Photon Treatments. Food with no flavor I can deal with, but, water tasting salty is really frustrating. Any ideas out there as to what is causing what? ## Unfortunately, it is hard to even guess, since those are well known side effects of almost all cancer therapies. I understand how the salty water can be frustrating, I was on a medication, once, that caused it, thankfully, I was able to just switch to something else. Do you know anything more specific regarding ...

Hi. I am a 20yr old male. I've got this lump on the right side of my head and lyk a boil jus behind my ryt ear. The doctr gave me Eryko 250 for this. Since I took eryko my lymph nodes have been swelling and I've got a high fever as well as a skin rash. I would like to know if this is caused by eryko 250 as all this started after taking eryko 250. Please help ## Hello, Dizzy D! How are you? Is the skin rash itchy with hives, or is it just a rash? If you have itching and hives, then you may be experiencing an allergic reaction, so you'd have to stop taking this medication and see your doctor for an alternative. However, if it's just the rash, then you are likely experiencing normal side effects that will go away a week or so, after you finish the antibiotic. Other possible...

Hi, I have just finished treatment for breast cancer. I had a mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy. The lump they found was 5.5 cm but only 2.5 was cancerous. It spread to 3 lymph nodes in spite of it being grade 1. I'm now on Tamoxifen and have been since February. Shortly after starting them, I developed a rash around the vagina. My symptoms sound nothing like any I've read and I'm frightened it might be a secondary cancer. My rash hasn't really spread since February but is a little sore with no itching at all. It also feels a bit swollen. I've been to the doctors but she didn't seem to know what it was and said it was probably a side effect of tamoxifen. Has anyone else heard of my symptoms being related to tamoxifen? ## Hello, Lemony! How are you? Yes, such an ...

A friend from Panama gave me some Unguento de Sulfatioazol with 07/2012 expiration date. She suggested it would work to heal skin cancer on my nose. The skin cancer is a result of radiation treatments on lymph nodes of the head. What I read on this website indicates this is not a safe product and may not even be what's needed since it is an antibiotic for infections. What can you tell me about use of this product? ## Hello, Suzey! How are you? I'm very sorry about the cancer. And yes, you are correct, according to the FDA, this is an antimicrobial and it will not treat any type of cancer. Since this is an ointment, typical side effects involved skin rash, redness and irritation. However, I strongly urge you to have the cancer treated properly, by your doctor. Is there anything e...
