I have been on Levothyroxine (100mcg) for over a year and half. Recently my doctor had me tested to see where my thyriod level was. Aparently I tested a little hyperthyroid (although I didn't notice any symptoms) so she reduced the dosage to 75mcg. That was about 5 weeks ago. Since then I have been gaining weight and struggling to have energy to workout, although I'm forcing myself to keep my same workout routine. I didn't have to force myself before. Has anyone experienced this? I'm supposed to get tested again after being on the 75mcg for 8 weeks. Is the 25mcg difference that big a difference? I ## Yes, it can make a big difference. Your body was used to the prior dosage and you suddenly switched to a lower one, so basically your are experiencing some mild withdrawal s...

My dosage was just changed from 50mg. every other day 75mg every other day. My new dosage is 75mg everyday now. Since I started my dosage change I have been getting a rash every 2 or 3 days. It itch's very bad. Has anyone else had this problem? ## The skin rash is listed as one of the less common, but more severe side effects requiring medical attention, so you should consult your doctor immediately. Here's the monograph listing with more info: Levo Info Click Here ## my dosage has been increased from 50 MCG to 75 MCG since this summer. I had the same problems with you. ## You may be sensitive to the coloring used in 75mcg Levothyroxine, which is Tartrazine. Syntroid 50mcg has no coloring.

I have a tiny white pill, just off white, really, but you could call it white. It's just a little bigger than a birth control pill. One side appears to be completely blank. The other side appears to have a Roman letter capital A that covers most of the pill. In the open underside of the A there appears to be a lower case i. Below that there appears to be a very small capital T and D, separated by a slight space. There is a remote possibility that the A is a V, but then the TD is at the top and printed upside down. ## The marking is ATD, what you thought was an I is a stylized logo of a mortar and pestle. This tablet contains 19mgs of Levothyroxine and 4.5mgs of Liothyronine, commonly sold under the brand name Armour Thyroid. These are Thyroid hormones.

FIVE MONTHS AGO I HAD A TOTAL THYRODECTOMY.I HAVE BEEN TAKING 100MCG OF LEVOTHYROXZINE.MY BLOOD PRESSURE AT TIMES IS HIGH ,I GET IRREGULAR HEART BEATS ,ALWAYS HAVE ANZIETY.I FEEL WEAK MOST OF THE TIME.I HAVE LOST 5 POUNDS IN JUST THREE WEEKS WITHOUT EVEN TYRING AND I GET TERRIBLE BURNING FEELING IN THE HEAD.THE DOCTORS WILL DO NOTHING BECAUSE MY LEVELS ARE NORMAL.I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR COMMENTS. ## Ask your doctor to see if he/she will prescribe you a drug called Clonidine. This is used often in detoxes to lower blook pressure due to withdrawals from opiates and also to help with anxiety. If you can you can always try Clonazemap (Klonipin) or a much weaker type of Benzodiazepine called Attivan (aka Lorazepam) That is specifically for Anxiety. I have this problem on a all ...

I had a total Thyroidectomy and take 100mcg of Levothyroxzine and I am experiencing weight loss. Is anyone else having this? ## I did respond to your other post, but will answer here as well, just in case you don't see that one. Weight loss, for some people, is a normal side effect of this drug, not everyone gains weight on it.

Ever since my total Thyroidectomy I have been taking Levothyroxine and I feel awful. I have low energy and get short of breath. I heard people gain weight but I keep losing weight yet my numbers are level. Anyone else experience this? ## Shortness of breath could be caused by an allergic reaction to this medication, you should talk to your doctor about this possibility. As to the weight loss, this is a possicle side effect, not everyone gains weight.

I am taking Levothyroxine & Evista (Raloxifine) and would like to know if these 2 medications have contraindications or interactions with each other? ## Raloxifine can reduce the amount of Levothyroxine available in the body; this may require your doctor to make a dosage adjustment. Ideally, to avoid this problem, you shouldn't take the two drugs at the same time, they should be taken 12 hours apart.

I have been taking this medication for quite a while and I believe my minor thyroid problem is under control. I have read and been told that this perticular medication can give you extra energy and weight loss. This is definately not happening in my case, in fact just the opposite. I have never felt this was due to medication though. An acquaintance told me that my medication would work in this manner if I took it at least one hour prior to taking my other medications and vitamins or drinking anything ie: coffee, tea, juice, etc. Could this be true and my doctor has just been remiss in relating this info to me, or have I been remiss in reading the RX insert? ## Well the basic point here is it says it can or may do that, it does not say that it will do that, which means that it works to ...

My dosage was just increased,150 MCG,and was wondering if this drug can cause shortness of breath? ## Hi Linda, This may indicate an allergic reaction: "Allergies to the medicine are unlikely, but if the patient develops a severe reaction to this drug such as difficulty breathing, shortness of breath or swelling of the face and tongue it is imperative that the patient immediately seek medical attention." I have experienced tachycardia with EKG changes. Can levoxly while on chemo be potentiated in levels or effects on my metabolism? ## Yes, but just the Levoxyl can do it. That happened to me and I am only 23 and not on chemo. It went away after a day and the doc said not to worry. Im not sure what that would mean for you, though. I just know it can make a person go tachy.
