Are there legal limitations or problems related to the use of Quick Clot by first responders or by the general public

QuikClot is also used by the U.S. military, however, it is really only approved to help with minor bleeding, It helps accelerate the body's natural clotting process, so there are cases where it might not help, if someone has no clotting factor, at all.
It is also not deemed effective for large injuries, and/or heavy bleeding.
The manufacturer has a website, QuikClot with an FAQ for more information, including the studies that prove its efficacy.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Quikclot has been approved by the FDA for external use and has been used successfully by the U.S. Military for a number of years. I have personal experience using it to stem otherwise uncontrollable bleeding by my elderly mother who uses Coumadin. She has cut herself in the kitchen and previous to finding Quikclot had to go to ther ER to deal with the bleeding.
In addition, I have used it on myself to deal with a severe cut.
As I said above, the product is FDA approved and I would think that there should be no limitation on the use of Quikclot by either first responders or by the general public. Any person who uses blood thinners should have it in their home medicine cabinet and anyone who spends time outdoors where help would be tough to get should carry it in their personal first aid kit.
