I have recently ordered this from a pharmacy in India. Is this the same as plavix? Is HAB pharmaceutical & research ltd. a reputable firm? ## I'm assuming this wasn't ordered from a U.S. or FDA approved pharmacy? The reason I am asking is because HAB is a very large pharmaceutical company in India and on their website's product page, they don't list anything called Lavix. That is one of the hazards of ordering in this manner, there is really no way of knowing what you are going to get and if it is the proper medication. Have you tried checking more details with the place you ordered from? ## Is Lavix a diuretic?

blood thinner ## Did you mean Plavix, the antiplatelet medication that contains Clopidogrel? Since it's used to prevent clotting, it is not a straight blood thinner, which is why it's paired with Aspirin in some cases. The side effects may include nausea, dizziness and increased risk of bleeding. There are more Plavix details available here.

Can Ecosprin 150mg and Plavix be used together. When it is used for same proeprties ie blood thinning then why doctors prescribe together ## They can be used together, because they both work in different ways to achieve the desired effect and, sometimes a person may still have clotting issues if they just use one medication. Learn more Plavix details here. Learn more Ecosprin details here. The doctor should be monitoring the person regularly and they should also know about the associated bleeding risks. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Thanks. My husband had an episode of TIA and was advised ecosprin by neurologist. One of my family friend who is a neuro radiologist suggested us to add plavix as well whereas neurologist treating my husband doesn't recommend same. So i a...

I am scheduled for a screening colonoscopy. I have been on Plavix after undergoing a repair of a Popiteal Aneurysm (behind the knee) in August. The GI doctor says I should discontinue Plavix 5 days before the test. The cardiologist isn't sure. What is the best situation.

My friends' mom can't afford her plavix right now and I still have my dads plavix from when he said passed.its the same mg and its not expired. can she take it? Also wut should I do with my dads other meds? ## Did you give it to her? There is no difference, just because it was prescribed for a different person, it is still the same medication. As to what to do with medications that are no longer used, or that are expired, the FDA guidelines direct you to mix in with some undesirable substance, such as used kitty litter, or wet used coffee grounds then dispose of the whole mess in the trash. Alternatively, you can take them to any pharmacy and they will gladly dispose of them for you. Learn more Plavix details here.

will taking plavix and lipitor have any effect on a dui bac? ## They aren't going to change the results, per se, but they can make alcohol have more of an effect on you than normal, so you may seem more impaired than usual after just a few drinks. In addition, it can cause some of the side effects to worsen, such as dizziness, drowsiness and nausea, which may contribute to the problem, in addition, alcohol can also thin the blood, which can increase the risk of bleeding, when it is used with the Plavix. Are there any other questions?

My husband drinks every night and he takes this med. I let him know he is killing himself. Please help. ## Plavix contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel, this is used to prevent clotting. Alcohol can also thin the blood, so yes, he is putting himself in danger. It can also aggravate side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, neutropenia and stomach bleeding. I need to find Lactose Free medications to do what the following drugs that contain lactose will accomplish what 1. Plavix 2. Zocor (Simvastatin) can accomplish. My husband has just spent 5 days in the hospital with a drug reaction to lactose and I need to be sure the others he is taking (those listed above containing lactose) can be replaced with something just as effective. ## To be honest, your best bet here might be to go to your local pharnacy, so they can look at the medications they have in stock or can order in and check the inactive ingredients for you. Both the Plavix and the Zocor are available as name brands and generics, which means there are quite a few on the market, manufactured by different companies. There really isn't any way to sort through all of them and check ...

My doctor took me off Plavix two weeks ago, and I`ve noticed the bruise`s on my forearm`s starting itching alot!! Also started getting little blisters, before the itching. Is this normal? & what should I put on it until I see my doctor in 5more day`s? ## Plavix contains Clopidogrel, which is an antiplatelet agent used to help prevent clotting, so it does have an effect on circulation, so this could be a reaction to being taken off of it suddenly, because your body has to readjust to not having the medication, now. Withdrawal symptoms can manifest in many different ways. What you are describing is basically a type of hives, which means the histamine receptors in your body are probably being oversensitive, right now. There are many topical allergy products on the market that you can p...

I have Narcolepsy and have been taking various drugs (e.g. Adderall, Dexotrine, Vyvanse) for the condition for the past 8 years. I recently had stints inserted into two arteries (one was almost completely closed). My wife feels that I should not take any stimulant medications since being diagnosed with artery problems. She is also convenienced that stimulant drugs cause me to be quick to anger and also increase intensity of anger. Please advise. ## The PLUTO-Diabetes study revealed substantial differences in the platelet-related effects of 1-month treatment with clopidogrel and ASA combination versus ASA alone in diabetic patients. Indeed, addition of clopidogrel to ASA significantly decreases various measures of platelet activity after 30 days of treatment. Importantly, this study prov...

I take plavix , ecosprin and wafarin daily. what are effects of it in the long run. can i stop one of it ## Plavix contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel, it is used to inhibit blood clotting. It can cause low white cell count or hemmorhage. Ecosprin contains Aspirin, it is also generally used for its blood thinning properties. Warfarin is another blood thinner. As to stopping any of these, this site is not medical professionals and do not know your medial history. Only you and your doctor can decide that. Have you talked to them about it?

Hi, my mother underwent an angioplasty last month and she is taking plavix and ecosprin along with other medicines. Now the doctor has suggested that we can start using clavix instead of plavix as plavix is very expensive. But I'm sceptical about it and would like to know wether Clavix is really as good as Plavix. Thanks, Kris ## There are a few limitations worth mentioning. Although randomized, and comparable in size to other similar investigations, PLUTO-Diabetes was a trial with a small sample size, so chance may represent a plausible alternative explanation for these findings. A high frequency of use of concomitant medications may have affected the platelet characteristics; however, the use of most major drugs was similar between the groups. There was a 2-fold greater prevalence...
