I had successfully taken Jardiance for four years and then developed an inflamed bladder from it. I have been off the drug nearly 10 days now and the symptoms have mostly gone away but not completely. My doctor does believe they will go away and I will not take that drug again. I had no UTI, no yeast infection and no other kind of infection. Unfortunately the next step is probably insulin. However, the bladder issue was so terribly uncomfortable I’m just glad it’s over. ## Hello, Linda! How are you? I am so sorry that you went through such misery. The FDA does warn that it can cause bladder issues, such as pain, increase urination, and very light colored urine, along with nausea, dizziness, hypoglycemia, and dehydration. Have you had any further improvement, yet? What other ...

I have been on Jardiance for over two weeks now. I have experienced dizziness, nausea, headaches, and shakiness and some diarrhea. Are these common side effects? I called my doctor today and she wants me to continue for a few more weeks. Do these side effects subside? How long does it take? I take no other medication for diabetes. I had been taking Invokana but due to insurance I had to switch. My last A1C was 5.7. Can anyone help with side effects? Should I take at night rather than morning? Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. ## Yes, those can be normal side effects of this medication, you may also experience stomach pain, and flatulence, according to FDA reports. Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## No I am not on any other diabetic meds. How ...

I am unable to take Metformin as it causes severe side effects and pulmonary oedema. I tried Liraglutide (Victoza) injections which gave my tachycardia. As I have heart failure I was then prescribed Jardiance 10mg 3 months ago which seemed to be ok but I'm not on the loo every hour and have not lost weight (gained 5kg actually). It was increased to 25mg 2 weeks ago and I have been increasingly breathless on mild exertion (speaking and bending forward). Feel like I'm full term pregnant. Surely I can't have side-effects to this too? My blood sugars are fine. ## What are your blood pressure readings? The symptoms you've described can also be due to congestive heart failure, according to NIH warnings. Those are typical symptoms of it. Do you ever wake up at night unable to b...

Hi, I'm on an insulin pump gained weight , can I use Jardiance with an insulin pump? My doctor put me in samples of Sanjardy and gave me a script. Insurance won't pay for it, but will pay for Jardiance. Since the pump delivers insulin automatically through out the day is it safe ## It is usually best to follow your doctor's instructions. The dosage in your pump can always be adjusted, if necessary. The FDA warns that these medications may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Have you started taking it, yet? If so, how are you doing? ## I have an insulin pump and have been on 10mg for about a month with the need to adjust my basal down on my pump and cut my night time bolus in half. Just started taking 20mg (until they run out t...

I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH METFORMIN AND DEVELOPED ANXIETY ATTACKS FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH. I HAD A PACEMAKER INSTALLED 2 YEARS AGO DUE TO lONG QT SYNDROME AND CAN NOT TAKE ANY ANTI-DEPRESSENTS. I GOT TYPE 2 DIABETIS SHORTLY AFTER MY SURGERY AND STARTING ON LIPITOR. I AM STRUGGLING TAKING ANY MEDICATION FOR IT. i HAVE SEVERE SIDE EFFECTS, WITH PEEING ALL THE TIME, YEAST INFECTION AND HEAD SPINNING - FEEL LIKE I AM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND. MY HIGHEST BLOOD SUGAR READING HAS NOT BEEN ABOVE 200, USUALLY AROUND 150-180. I FEEL LIKE I CAN'T HANDLE THIS ANYMORE. I STOPPED TODAY AFTER ONLY 1 WEEK. 10 MG. HELP!!!!!!! HOW LONG WILL THIS BE TO GET OUT OF MY SYSTEM SEEING IT IS ONLY 1MG AND 1 WEEK? ## What medications have you tried for your diabetes? The FDA lists their typical side effects as possib...

I have been taking Jardiance for about 5 weeks now but have had to stop due to thrush that wont go away, I could cope with the thirst and peeing but not this constant thrush, its making me miserable, anyone else experience this and did it go away eventually? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? Actually, that is most likely due to your being diabetic and not due to the medication. Diabetes is well known to cause thrush in women, according to the NIH. It would be best to consult your doctor, since they may be able to prescribe something that will help prevent it, because it is far more dangerous to go off of the medication and let your blood sugar get out of control. Are you on any other medications? ## Hi, I have been diabetic for 6 years, the doctor who prescribed Jardinance did say it would ...

I have been on Jardiance for several months. I recently began to suffer from dehydration, and received two liters of fluids earlier this week. The day after, I went back to an insatiable need for H2O and frequent urination. While I only occasionally experienced the dizziness and shortness of air, it has become more frequent, especially today. It seems to be accompanied by leg weakness. I have associated these symptoms with the Jardiance. Does anyone know how long it will take to get out of my system? ## What dosage were you taking and how long were you taking it? Those symptoms are commonly associated with elevated blood sugar levels. Do you check yours regularly? The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, increased urination, flatulence, sto...

I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes on 5 Jan 2017,when my blood glucose was 718, with a HgbA1C of 9. So began my journey on Regular insulin and Lantus, with a drastic change in diet and a script for Metabolic Surgery(the new gold standard for the treatment of diabetics that are morbidly obese) I was switched to metformin which caused major gastric problems, then went to Januvia with glimepiride, then advanced to Jardiance 25mg with glimepiride 4mg twice a day. I have changed my diet and started exercising 3-4 times a week. I have lost 45 lbs and have had to cut the glimepiride out. So presently I am taking the Jardiance daily in the am and my A1C is down to 5.4 and my average blood sugar is in the low 100's. I have had one UTI, and the weight loss as side effects from the Jardiance. S

I started with 10mg of Jardiance around three weeks back. I am already on 2000mg of metformin. Since I started Jardiance I've been suffering badly from thrush, around every 90 minutes I am peeing. Initially I showed around 10 pounds of weight loss and now again I am gaining the weight back. My other concern is that my magnesium levels have gone down as I am peeing too much and the absorption of the nutrient is less. Please advise...

I have been taking 12.5 mg Jardiance once per day at breakfast for 8 days now. Added to that are 50 units of humalin n morning and bedtime morning sugar today 5.4 and 5 lb weight loss. Sounds like a match made in Heaven but the nausea (no vomiting) and the dizziness keep me pretty much lying down. Does this get better or disappear over time? Anyone know? I'm trying to persevere with it but it's horrible feeling this way. ?? ## Such side effects usually do go away, but it may take about 4 to 5 weeks for your body to get used to the medication. You may also experience headache, and diarrhea. Has anything changed, at all, yet? ## I'm actually feeling much better today....not 100%, but better. Thanks for your reply. It's good to know I'm not alone in this. ??

Switched from Invokana to Jardiance 2 months ago. I had lost 3-4 pounds on Invokana. Since taking Jardiance I have lost an additional 7 pounds; at my lowest weight in over 30 years. Love it except for all the peeing. ## Weight loss is not listed as a side effect in FDA reports, but it is never easy to say how any given medication will actually affect anyone that takes it. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including dizziness, headache, hypoglycemia, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

Started taking 25 mg Jardiance daily about 2+ weeks ago, and have noticed that my blood sugar readings have been going up pretty consistently; from around 7 to 10 - 12 in the morning; and from 8 - 9 to 15 - 17 in the evening. Have not changed any other prescriptions and my diet has been the same right thru. Anyone else seen this? ## Hello, WayneM! How are you? Not every medication works for everyone that tries it. Have you experienced any of the other issues the FDA reports it as being known to cause, such as yeast infection or dehydration? Can anyone else that's been on it chime in with their experiences?

So my doctor gave me the free year of jardiance card w/ prescription and says it will block sugar from remaining in my system or whatever. I'm not diabetic, I'm 29, 6'3" 265 lbs but not in bad shape and he says it will help me lose weight. I haven't seen or heard of anyone taking it for this purpose and just curious if anyone has any insight. I know the side effects but I'm not prone to infections or diabetic so I don't know..... ## Hello, Stewie! How are you? Well, only you can make the final decision on whether or not to take it, but yes, many oral antidiabetic medications have been shown to help with weight loss, by improving the body's use and processing of insulin. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence, diarrhea and stomach pain. Is ...
