I was prescribed 8 mg of ER Hydromorphone today in place of Percocet 10/325 3x a day. I hope it works without making me sleepy or tired. I'm scared, but need to find one medication instead of so many Percocet. What is your take on how these two medications compare with one another? ## Each 10mgs of Oxycodone is equivalent to 3.75mgs of Hydromorphone, so it is stronger and may work better for you. However, all narcotic opiates could cause drowsiness, and fatigue as side effects, according to FDA reports, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, and constipation. Have you started taking it, yet? If so, how is it working for you? ## Can you take 6 mg of diladad safetly with 20 mg of oxycontin three times a day

I had a knee surgery yesterday. I have been using subutex to help me taper narcotics. I stopped the subutex 2 weeks before surgery. My doctor prescribed both percocet and oxycontin. I am getting no pain relief. The iv Dilaudid worked in the hospital. Has anyone taken Dilaudid by pill at home? ## I have suffered with chronic neck and back pain for years due to disk and nerve problems. My Dr. switched me from oxycontin to diulaudid (4-8 mg) and it worked for the first 9 mos. or so, then I got no relief. Many people get sick on it or very itchy. I am now on a higher dosage of Percoset. ## Are you familiar with subutex? ## No, I'm not. ## It is a new drug that has some pain killing ability. It is a controlled substance. When you take it other narcotics don't work. So it is good for ...

I take Vicodin 10/325 I recently took a urine test and my results came back as being positive for Dilaudid which I am allergic to but my Dr. immediately said she would no longer manage my pain because I was taking something I was not prescribed by her. I told her to retest my urine as soon as I found out but her response was "It wouldn't do any good, it has been to long since we tested you so it would be out of your system, I have been in a pain contract for years and never taken anything I wasn't prescribed to take. I need help with this so I can prove to my Dr. that I have not done anything wrong. Please help. ## Did you ever get an answer to the false positive? My doctor told me today that I also tested positive for dilaudid but I only take Norco which he prescribes. This...

weakest to strongest pain medications ## LoLo Go to: Wikipedia and search Opioid Comparison ## Yes, there are really far too many for anyone to list them all and compare them for you, especially with your lack of specificity. If you restrict it to opiates, as capt ekim talked about searching for, then that narrows the list a bit, but in regards to general analgesics there are many on the market, both over the counter and prescription only medications. Additionally, there's no way to really know which will be stronger or weaker for any given person, since medications can affect everyone differently. For example, I get completely whacked out sick from some that work great for other people and their best choices don't do anything to help me with pain. Are there any other questions ...

Does Hydromorphone and Hydrocodone carry the risk of any adverse drug interactions when taken four hours apart? ## Yes, it could result in an overdose, if someone isn't opiate tolerant. Have they both been prescribed for the patient? Are they on any other medications?

Someone gave me what was suppose to be hydromorphone they were small white pills that had no imprints which after she gave them to me and I asked her she said there was suppose to be imprints but maybe the pil was old and wore off the numbers or someone switced pills the pill tasted sweet if that helps and it didn't really help with my pain but I do feel a little drowsy is that what it was? ## If there were no markings, then your guess is really as good as anyone else's. It is possible that a marking wore off, but highly unlikely, because the imprints on all U.S. approved Hydromorphone tablets are actually debossed, so it is pressed into the tablet and not just a dye print that can be rubbed off. Learn more Hydromorphone details here. There is a greater likelihood that they neve...

I have read various different precautions about using this drug intravenously. Some say that without using a micron filter you run the risk of losing your arm due to a microcrystalline cellulose compound found in the drug, I guess as a tamper prof method. That seems cruel knowing addicts will abuse anything if the possibility it will make them high. they also say this compound is not water soluble so does that mean once water is added that compound would not enter the needle and stay at the bottom? Others say its fine. My other main question is what does the pms in pms-hydromorphone stand for and is it related to that cellulose compound? ## PMS is the manufacturer. It's pharmascience. ## What does the letters PMS- in Meds PMS-Hydromothone mean please!

I'm on diazepam and hydrocodone. I went to the hospital where they gave me a shot of Dilaudid and my drug screen urine came back today that I was on Oxycodone. Does Dilaudid show up as Oxycodone, because I don't take Oxycodone? ## I don't know, but a similar thing happened to me. I came up posit ive for oxy but only took my dilaudid and fentanyl. Got kicked out. I'd LOVE to hear some replies to this ## Fentanyl will show up as oxy I know bc I had a random drug test for my job and failed for oxy and took a Fentanyl the day before ## I have tested positive for oxycodone in my urine for the last 4 urine tests. I am prescribed Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Elavil, Relafen, Phenergan and take Midol, AZO and Dayquil. I recently got drug tested by my doctor. She said my urine showed Hydromorphone, Morphine and Suboxone but did not show my Hydrocodone and oxycodone. I know it has to be wrong because I did not take the medicine she said was in my urine. I have looked online for answers but am still unclear. It has to be a false positive. Could the medicines I'm taking cause it to show those drugs? ## Morphine, hydrocodone and oxycodone all show as the same drug of they did a urine and the same with the other meds. Even ambien can give false results

Looks exactly like Mallinckrodt's 8mg hydromorphone pill....except it's not. Possibly a fake? I was informed this is a kind of heart medication but could find no such information online even searching through the manufacturer site. I did find, however several instances in where the actual manufacturer had made similar mistakes in the past i.e. placing a percentage of incorrect medication into a shipment. Please respond if you definitely know what this could be. If your answer is dilauded please do not respond. ## When we're just going off a description alone, there's no way for anyone to provide you with a "definite" answer (because counterfeits can look the same as the real thing). However if you didn't fill a prescription at a licensed drug store and it loo...

The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I have to do a blood test and need to have it in my blood. I have never taken the prescribed amount because of the addiction potential. Now I have a blood test and haven't taken it in 3 days even though my pain has been very severe. I don't really want to take it but need it in my blood. How long does it show in blood and what would show if I took a shot prior to my blood draw? ## Bob, That's impossible to answer without an exact route of administration, dosage and health condition. I have been taking three 4mg hydromorphone pills per day, for the past several months for chronic neck, back and leg pain. During two recent urine tests, the hrdromorphone was detected...but at a calculation smaller than what the doctor expected. My last urine test showed that NO hydromorphone was detected in my urine...even though I continued to take the pills as prescribed. What might cause these false readings. I take a regimen of other medications for other medical challenges, I also suffer from IBS and go to the restroom frequently each day and I am on a direuratic which causes me to urinate many times each day. My doctor put me on hydromorphone Er 8mg yesterday. I read the directions wrong. I am only supposed to take it 1 time a day, but I took it 1 every 12 hours; my last one was at 5am this morning. My question is can I start my correct schedule tonight because I am supposed to take 1 at night time a day? ## It would actually be best to skip the next dose, then resume tomorrow at your next dosing time. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Tylenol #3 irritates my digestive tract to the point I now require ppi medication. Is Hydromorph 3mg a safer alternative? ## Hello, Valerie! How are you? I took a recent drug test and it showed a small amount of oxymorphone. I take hydromorphone and morphine er, plus xanax. This clinic is about to have its doors locked, and I am looking for another, but i do not want to have this on my record since for 15 years I have always had a clean, or correct, drug test. ## We admonish these hectic agencies working the game.
