Doriden/glutethimide Availability (Page 2)
UpdatedDoes anyone know where one could obtain glutethimide or it's brand name Doriden (CIBA Company)? Am in Canada where Doriden was discontinued in late 1980s and I was told Doriden discontinue was international. Perhaps there is now a generic form containing glutethimide available now as I would assume CIBA trademark rights would have by now expired. As the benzodiazapine replacement meds for Doriden are more addictive and dangerous (especially if mixing with alcohol & other drugs) it sure would be great to be able to go back to Doriden or glutethimide which were more effective and safer. A shame that the public was switched over to benzodiazipines (i.e. lorazapam, diazapam) when a better/safer product was available all in the name of profits and economics. Any help out there is most appreciated.
Re: Tom (# 4)
That’s what we called them. Damn those were the days..
Re: Joseph (# 12)
I’m going too..All this talk of doriden has me getting all euphoric. The big question is how to get through 1. The X-ray machine, 2. Customs.
We called the Glutethimide (Doriden) and codeine "hits" or "Cibas and codeine" in my area of NJ. We can all go and charter a flight!
Re: Joseph (# 13)
I just checked the internet and Doriden is still listed class 2, but here’s the funny part. The DEA Has a quota of 3 grams which is equivalent to 6 Doriden tablets
That quota is only for the US, and it shows that Glutethimide is probably being used for some kind of research.
Re: Joseph (# 19)
Well really only 4 more because after they discontinued in the states un 93 its wasn't till 99 that i discovered them again thanks to the internet. There a export company from India claiming to have it but im very skeptical. Looks like they have it in non pressed, loose powder and i wouldn't risk it. Well i guess i can still dream of a European vacation.
Yes, I would be weary too. But China and India may be the last hope for Glutethimide. Oh how I yearn for those days.
Re: Fred (# 26)
Yes Fred, I wouldn't buy anything in a powder form purporting to be Glutethimide either. We have to put our collective heads together and figure out how and where we can find some real Glutethimide somewhere.
Re: Joseph (# 28)
I was offered Glutethimide tablets online, quite expensive and they're using the USV 354 imprint on the tablet! I'm thinking scam, they will not even send me a one tablet sample. If they were legit they would be more than happy to send a one tablet sample to have tested.
Re: Joseph (# 29)
Thats disappointing... i would guess they are bogus due to the fact USV hasn't produced them in over 2 decades. So the search continues.
Re: Fred (# 30)
Or maybe they have a tablet press and are using the USV imprint because everyone is familiar with it?
There is an online company offering Glutethimide in tablet form, I don't think I can mention their name on here but it's a gamble as far as getting what you want to get.
Re: Joseph (# 32)
I'd definitely be interested in knowing how you make out with that if you decide to take the plunge. I've been searching under Glutethimid which is the way its spelled in Romania and eastern Europe, thinking I may have more luck that way but unfortunately many sites are not in English and I'm not sure the translation filter is capable for a good portion of the sites that come up. Plus I don;'t have a whole lot of time to devote to searching. I do what I can, when I can. It would be very funny if it turns out we knew each other back in the day. The Jersey "hits" crowd was small and many of my old friends died of OD when they switched to H after the demise of Glutethimide. Not a lot of us left. I'm happy I never went that route. I was always squeamish of taking anything that wasn't produced in a legit pharmaceutical company. good luck.
Re: fred (# 33)
Yeah Fred, I wish that there was a way that we can get in touch, I'm in Essex county BTW. I am not ordering from that vendor who supposedly has Glutethimide tablets, won't even send one tablet sample so I can test it plus it is very expensive, if I knew it was genuine it would probably be worth it though. I have some gypsy friends who have family in Hungary but it was discontinued in '06 when Terapia Pharma of Hungary was sold to Ranbaxy of India and they dropped all of their low selling meds and Glutethimide was one of them. Unfortunately I did take the H train when they were discontinued in the US and have been on MMT over 20 years now. I am clean however.
Re: Joseph (# 34)
I'm in Essex as well. I too was on MMT for 3 years due to Oxy's but have been off the program and still clean for 4 years now. I'm saving myself for one day when a miracle happens or perhaps when I get so old that it won't matter anymore.
Re: fred (# 35)
Small world. Where the ones you were getting from Bulgaria made by Terapia Pharma? They were actually a Romanian pharma company not Hungarian as I stated previously. This company online insists that they are not bogus, but they are asking 20.00 per tab, min order 30 tablets. What do you think? You probably seen their site online if you search for Glutethimide. I am going to ask if they can send a 5 tablet sample. I have to reunite with my beloved Glutethimide and Codeine at least one more time in my life as I'm a bit over 50 right now.
Re: Joseph (# 36)
That is an awful big risk with your funds if you had to get 30 and don't think I would do it. If they'll do 5 I'd probably take the risk though. I do believe it was Terapia that made them. Definitely not USV. Will they send you a picture? The photo I've seen was a stock photo and I think its the same place you're referring to. There are a few chemical companies in China but looks like you'd have to buy a 50 gal drum of it... Imagine that... I'd be dead in a matter of weeks...lol, but smiling all the way... Talking to anybody that would listen (we used to call it ciba talking).
Re: Joseph (# 36)
I think we're talking about the same company if it has a name similar to mine
Re: fred (# 37)
Yes, it's quite similar as a matter of fact. Do you think they're legit? They adamantly insist that they are.
Re: fred (# 33)
Dear Friend, I'm from Slovakia in Central Europe and I can search for noxyron in my area. I live near Hungary and Romania border and i can easily find out if the glutethimide is still available in this country because Slovakian prescription is legal in every country which is in the European Union. Only question is which country in Europe has Glutethimide still available. Hungary? Romania? Moldavia? Bulgary? I hope they have to be still available.
